Time To Temper Expectations

Enough with all these experts saying a) USC has a big shot at making the College Football Playoff and b) the Trojans should win the Pac-12 handily.

How about USC first proving its can capture its own division? How about the Trojans demonstrating they can actually make it to the conference title game before worrying about winning it?

Don’t get me wrong. This is by no means an attempt to temper the natural enthusiasm surrounding the opening of training camp in sunny, downtown Los Angeles. It is simply an attempt to bring coach Steve Sarkisian’s second season into a more clear perspective.
